Perkins&Will

Perkins&Will has appointed Juan Rovalo as its first firmwide ecologist, starting in 2024. Rovalo, a biomimicry expert, brings over 20 years of experience and has worked with companies like Jacobs, PG&E, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He previously founded Environmental Operations Workshop and taught at the University of Iberoamericana.

They have also welcomed AIA Fellow Matthew Krissel to its Philadelphia studio. Krissel, an internationally recognized architect with extensive experience in higher education and institutional projects, will enhance the firm’s Philadelphia presence. With a background in architecture, urban planning, and research, Krissel will help lead projects and expand the firm’s impact across the region. LMN Architects

LMN Architects has appointed Jenn Chen to the firm’s leadership as partner. She will be the first interior designer to join the firm’s partnership. Chen has been with LMN for eight years, during which time she helped move the firm into new market sectors with projects such as the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University, Hines Seattle Headquarters, and a 700,000-square-foot technology company campus, one of the firm’s largest workplace projects to date. She also co-founded the firm’s Path to Zero Carbon series, which is focused on sharing research, summarizing, and prioritizing actions to reach carbon neutrality, and is a leading member of the firm’s Materials & Health Applied Research Team.

WATG

John Page has been appointed principal and senior director of business development for the Americas at WATG. He joins the firm with 35 years of experience across the hospitality, gaming, and entertainment sectors. In his new role he will work in collaboration with Arianna Leopard, principal/senior director of business development, based in Houston, to support the firms’ offices in Tustin and Los Angeles, California; Honolulu and New York City.

Perkins&Will

Perkins&Will has opened a studio in San Antonio, augmenting the firm’s presence in Texas and joining existing studios in Dallas, Austin, and Houston. The studio will be led by Adrianna Swindle, who heads cultural and civic as well as corporate and commercial practices; and health practice leader, Omar Cantu. The studio will deliver local services in urban design, workplace, and higher education.

MAS Studio

Julie Michiels and Jacob Chartoff have joined MAS Studio as partners alongside Iker Gil. Michiels has practiced in offices in Chicago, most recently as the interiors practice leader and senior associate principal at SOM Chicago. She previously held roles at Perkins&Will and Environ (now HED). She was a finalist of Interior Design’s Interior Designer of the Year Award in 2020. Chartoff most recently joined Michiels to co-lead the Interiors Studio at SOM where he served as associate principal and the interiors technical design lead. He previously held roles at Landon Bone Baker, GLUCK+, Wheeler Kearns Architects, Columbia College Chicago, and Civic Projects.

Rapt Studio

Ben Kracke has been appointed managing director of Rapt Studio Los Angeles. He will join Rapt Studio’s senior leadership team and will oversee the Los Angeles team of architects, designers, and strategic thinkers, working closely with Kali Lewis, Rapt’s LA creative director.

Southern California-based interiors firm Tangram has made updates to its internal structure, including the advancement of four team members to business development roles. They are Lora Apodaca to director of business development for Southern California; Ali McGee as new business developer for the Newport Beach office; Gary Vilinsky to business development for Tangram Southern California, and Andrew Roche to business development & data analyst in Orange County.

Lindsay Gerber Interiors

Brett Northart has joined Lindsay Gerber Interiors as CEO. Northart has a background in tech, having founded Le Tote and scaled the company into one of the largest subscription e-commerce companies in the world. During his 8-year tenure as founder and President, Northart grew the business from initial concept to hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, built up a team of over 500 employees, launched a joint venture in China and raised over $350 million from top-tier VC and PE firms.

V Starr

Sonya Haffey has been appointed CEO of V Starr. She was previously the firm’s principal of 15 years. Under her new title, she will continue to make handle direct relations with outside investors, clients and various stakeholders while remaining committed to the growth and development of the V Starr portfolio at the executive level. The promotion comes as part of an overall rebrand of the firm and reevaluation of its key pillars to align with its long-term goals to service partners across hospitality and residential sectors.

StudioSix5

Austin-based commercial interiors firm StudioSix5 has announced the promotion of three new principals. Claire Richards and Shauna Revo are now principals. They have both been with the firm for more than 10 years. Claire directs the multifamily, student living and hospitality studio. Shauna is a senior project manager focused on senior living. Jose Patiño has been promoted to associate principal. He is the company’s IT director and oversees its 3D modeling studio. The promotions come as the firm celebrates its 21st anniversary.

Soake Pools

The New England-based plunge pool manufacturer Soake Pools has announced two new hires. They are Shane Baker as technical services specialist and Jarrett Brathweaite as southwestern territory manager. Both will contribute to the continued growth and success of the company. Baker has a background in project management and customer service within the higher education sector, and brings daily operations and management skills to his new role. Brathwaite has a rich history spanning over a decade in channel sales and sales management across diverse technology sectors, and has earned acclaim for driving exponential growth and fostering impactful partnerships.

The multinational hospitality and residential interior design firm 15o8 has appointed Scott Miller as regional director of North America. He joins the firm from AvroKO, where he previously held the position of global director of development since 2016.

Powerhouse Arts

The Gowanus, Brooklyn-based fabrication studio Powerhouse Arts has joined forces with two new organizations. They are Manhattan Graphics Center (MGC), a membership-driven community printshop, and Alpha Workshops, which trains and employs people with HIV/AIDS or other disabilities in textile fabrication. The partnership ensures that all three organization are able to continue operating far into the future.

Jeffrey Beers International

As part of a succession plan following the passing of founder Jeffrey Beers in March, three newly appointed partners have come together to lead the Jeffrey Beers International firm. They are Michael Pandolfi, Nora Liu-Kanter, and Tim Rooney. All worked alongside Beers for over 20 years, and they will continue to collaborate closely with the partners, chief operating officer Julia Choi, and chief financial officer Jeffrey Ashey.

Ware Malcomb

Ware Malcomb has announced promotions in their Nashville office. They are Greg Spon to principal and Rebecca Moore to director, interior architecture and design. Moore joined the firm in 2023 as studio manager and brings 22 years of experience overall to the role. Spon, meanwhile, has been with the firm since 2015 and most recently served as regional director since 2022.

The firm has also made promotions in their Irvine, CA-based corporate headquarters. The promotions are Sergio Valentini to Southern California regional principal overseeing the Irvine and Inland Empire offices; Luke Corsbie to principal, civil engineering; Analisa Olson to director of the Irvine interior architecture and design studio; Eric Namisniak to studio manager, architecture for the Irvine and Inland Empire offices; and Andrew Capeluto as studio manager, branding.

In the Miami office, Rei Gomez has been promoted to principal. He will be responsible for the continued leadership and overall growth of the Miami practice.

Bernard Interiors

Interior design studio Bernard Interiors, headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, with offices in London, has made two senior appointments: Rachael Sellers and Oliver Holmes. Sellers brings 20 years of experience in marketing and business development across the professional services and healthcare sectors, including 11 years as head of marketing and business development at BW Medical Accountants. Holmes has spent 10 years working in financial services, including three as Vice President of banking operations with Deutsche Bank.

Kaynemaile

The global designer and manufacturer of bio-circular architectural mesh systems Kaynemaile has named Jeffrey Hentz as USA market leader. In this role, he will lead and manage the marketing, sales, and fulfillment of the company’s products.

L’OBJET

Stanislas Le Bert has been appointed chief executive officer of L’OBJET. He brings over 15 years of experience in the luxury beauty and lifestyle industries. His tenure includes roles at Dyptique, Byredo, and most recently as CEO at L:a Bruket.

Jamie Stern Furniture, Carpet, Leather & Fabric

Jamie Stern has appointed three new representatives. Kymberly Henry has been named to the sales team, based in San Francisco and covering the wider Northern California territory. Kymberly brings over a decade of experience selling luxury high-end product into the interiors market. Based in Denver, Ashley Jewell covers the Colorado, Utah and Arizona territories. Ashley brings over a decade of experience selling product into the architectural interiors market. Mia Stern joins the sales team in Boston, where she will cover the New England territory, Mia brings extensive client-facing experience along with a passion for business development.

Hoedemaker Pfeiffer

Seattle-based multidisciplinary design and architecture firm Hoedemaker Pfeiffer has promoted Todd Beyerlein to partner. Beyerlein brings decades of leadership and design experience to the role.

Brent Capron has joined Corgan as interiors studio design director and associate principal in the New York office. He brings more than 25 years of experience in the design industry and will lead the creative endeavors at Corgan’s corporate interiors practice in New York. Capron’s exceptional design has earned multiple Interior Design Best of Year accolades for 799 Broadway, Shearman & Sterling’s global headquarters, and Grey Worldwide’s global headquarters.

Olson Kundig

Olson Kundig has opened a Chicago office, marking a significant expansion for the firm. The studio will be located in Fulton Market, where it will serve as a central hub for the firm’s operations and offer specialized services for clients in the midwest.

RODE Architects

Boston-based RODE Architects has acquired McMahon Architects. McMahon is a full-service firm specializing in workplace interiors, hospitality, restaurant, residential and environmental design. The acquisition, which reflects RODE’s continued growth and momentum following its expansion in 2023, enables the firm to strengthen its capabilities in several key sectors and expand its offerings for clients reimagining the workplace in a post-pandemic landscape.

3form

Lauren V. Smith has been appointed director of sustainability at 3form. In this role, she will lead company-wide initiatives, partnering with teams across 3form, 3form Elements, and LightArt to integrate sustainable practices in every facet of the business. Most recently, she served as the corporate sustainability manager at Columbia Sportswear Company. Prior to Columbia, Smith was at General Motors, where she was integral in pursuing the company’s zero waste aspirations as the sustainable materials program manager.

At Gensler’s Shanghai office, Ray Bai assumes the role of Practice Area Community Leader. With nearly 25 years in healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use and aviation design in China and the U.S., Bai will spearhead strategic development and expansion across Gensler’s healthcare work and offices in Greater China. Alanna Carter joins the Gensler Houston office as Regional Healthcare Practice Area Leader. Perkins&Will

Dawne David-Pierre has joined Perkins&Will as director of operations for the New York and Philadelphia Studios. Dawn is an architect and project manager with more than two decades of experience delivering complex projects in healthcare, education, and science and technology. She is a key member of the New York and Philadelphia leadership team, working closely with Clemens, design director Mike McElderry, interior design director Brent Capron, and health practice leader Laura Morris, among others, to set the studios’ strategy and support the firm’s culture of design excellence, innovation, and inclusion. Among other duties, she is responsible for ensuring project teams have the right resources at the right time to design and deliver projects that meet or exceed clients’ expectations.

The firm has made three more leadership changes at the highest level across several offices. Todd Gilles, firmwide director of finance, has become chief financial officer, succeeding Dana Waymire, who retired in March; Susan Gushe, managing director of the firm’s Vancouver and Calgary studios, has become chief operating officer, succeeding Tyson Curcio, who has transitioned full-time into his role as chief practice officer; Amber Hamilton, firmwide director of talent, has become chief talent officer, succeeding Meg Brown, who retired earlier this month.

Also, Eileen Jones, designer of branded environments and firmwide practice leader at Perkins&Will, has announced her retirement. Her career encompassed more than 40 years, with 22 of those years spent at Perkins&Will, during which time she worked on projects from the 1,500 square-foot showroom in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart to the 10 million-square-foot expansion at the Holy Mosque of Makkah. Following her retirement, Keith Curtis, a design principal based in the firm’s Atlanta studio, will take on the role of firmwide branded environments practice leader. Keith has over 30 years of experience designing for some of the most recognized brands in the world. In the Chicago studio, Yvette Fevurly will lead the local practice.

Haworth Lifestyle Design

Ralph Lauren Corporation and Haworth Lifestyle Design have announced a strategic long term agreement beginning April 1, 2024. The agreement will enable Ralph Lauren to continue expanding and growing its Home business. The collaboration will also include the development and operations of a network of new, freestanding, immersive Ralph Lauren Home stores in strategic locations globally.

Gettys Group

The board of directors of The Gettys Group Companies has announced the appointment of two new CEOs. Ron Swidler is CEO of the Gettys Group Companies and Jerry Zeitner is CEO of Ridgeline Development Partners, the firm’s hotel development arm. Both Ron Swidler and Jerry Zeitner are long-time Gettys Group team members who have been integral in expanding the firm’s offerings and global impact. Swidler joined Gettys nearly 35 years ago and rose to chief innovation officer. Zeitner joined Gettys just under 28 years ago and most recently served as chief development officer of Ridgeline Development Partners.

Daniel Frisch Architecture

Residential firm Daniel Frisch Architecture has expanded into Kent, Connecticut from their longtime office in Manhattan. They have also announced the appointment of Kate Jiranek as partner, with Daniel Frisch in the role of managing partner. Devon Mott has been named director of special projects.

Carrier Johnson + Culture

Architecture, interiors, landscape, and planning firm Carrier Johnson + Culture (CJ+C) is celebrating the official opening of its newest location in Atlanta. To lead the opening of their new office, CJ+C has strategically co-located its firmwide head of design and design principal Luca Maffey and its director of interiors and managing principal Craig Anderchak. Both Maffey and Anderchak have lived in Atlanta for many years and completed several high-profile projects in the city; some are currently in design and/or construction.

Arteriors

John Hart has been named CEO of Arteriors. Hart most recently served as CEO of Luminaire, a leading national design retailer of contemporary European furnishings headquartered in Miami. As a business leader with a proven 28-year track record across the luxury design space, Hart has driven the growth of noted global brands across each key channel of distribution catering to the design trades. Prior to Luminaire, he served as co-CEO of Michigan-based luxury custom rug manufacturer Scott Group Studio, and spent the majority of his career with Kohler Company.

Stylex

Stylex will be acquired by Flokk, a leading European office seating and furniture manufacturer. The purchase comes at a pivotal moment, solidifying Flokk’s presence in the U.S. market and opening new opportunities to take the Stylex brand to the next level.

IMC Architecture

The Brooklyn-based multi-family, commercial and institutional architectural firm IMC Architecture has launched its new interior design studio. The new interior design studio’s current projects include the 4,000-square foot office fit-out for Brooksville and boutique 1,000-square-foot workplace for We Lend in Manhattan; 10,000-square foot workplace for Bawabeh Realty Holdings in Brooklyn as well as interior design work for several charter and private schools in Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn. In the retail and hospitality markets, the studio designed the new Le Café Coffee at the One Dag office tower in Midtown Manhattan.

Hydro Systems

Luxury bath brand Hydro Systems has added Adriana D’Onofrio as director of business development, based in New York City. She will oversee business development in the hospitality sector and actively target the architecture and design community as the company continues to expand its reach and product range. In her previous role, D’Onofrio served as U.S. sales and business development at The Rug Company.

Turf

President Rob Perri has been promoted to vice president, architectural specialties—brand companies at Turf’s parent company Armstrong World Industries, Inc. Perri brings more than 20 years of experience to his new role, with a strong background in product innovation, global strategy and manufacturing. Since joining Turf in 2018, Perri has driven revenue growth of over 400%, with the goal of consistently delivering 20% year-over-year growth. Perri will continue to serve as the president of Turf while also taking on a larger role within Armstrong.

Elkus Manfredi Architects

Elkus Manfredi Architects has named two new principals and announced promotions to vice president, senior associate, and associate. William (Rob) Halter has been promoted to principal. Emily Paparella has also been promoted to principal. She joined Elkus Manfredi in 2006 and has overseen a wide variety of complex projects, including  higher-education, residential, mixed-use, and renovation projects, most recently Simmons University’s One Campus Master Plan and design of the Living and Learning Center. Rob and Emily join David P. Manfredi, CEO and founding principal; Elizabeth O. Lowrey, principal; John H. Martin, principal; and Andrew West, principal in the leadership of the firm. John Mitchell and Timothy Talun have been promoted to vice president. Gregory Breisinger, Christina Hoover, and Jacob E. Kain have been promoted to senior associate. Jocelyn Barahona, Genevieve Dominiak, Rahissa Melo Wang, Xiaofeng Sima, and Kate Woodcome have been promoted to associate.

Urbahn Architects

Urbahn Architects, a prominent, full-service planning, architecture and interior design firm based in New York City, has launched Urbahn International, a new affiliate to focus on public, commercial, hospitality, multi-family, healthcare, educational and institutional work globally. Urbahn International will operate in both New York City and Jakarta, Indonesia. Pratt Institute-educated architect Rafi Haikal will serve as Urbahn’s Director of ASEAN Region Business Development.

Denver Architecture Foundation

Meg Touborg has been promoted to CEO of the Denver Architecture Foundation (DAF). Touborg arrives at DAF after a 35-year career as a founder, fundraiser, and director in the fields of fashion, architecture, design, and education. Most recently, Touborg served as the development director of the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Architecture and Planning. Potential new projects include establishing an educational scholarship fund for diversity in architecture, an endowed lecture series, and an architecture and design center in Denver.

FCA

FCA has made leadership promotions across the firm. Promoted to principal are Chip Hemphill and Stephen Jouflas; promoted to senior associate are Brian Kessler, Paige Macfarlan, Jessica Roden, and Jessica Rotenberger; promoted to associate are Mario DeJesus, Brian Fullen, Rachel Howren, Nicholas Husbands, Adam Musante, Lisa Patusky, Michelle Reese, and Carol Vandiepen.

Emtek

Steve Kamp has been promoted to VP & GM of luxury hardware at Fortune Brands Innovations. He will be responsible for leading the commercial North America Emtek & Schaub business and will be a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team. Kamp most recently served as VP of sales and marketing. In addition, Emtek announced Austin McCormick’s promotion to senior director of sales for the US market. In this new position, McCormick will provide focused service to Emtek’s independent dealer network in the brand’s most important market, the United States.

DLR Group

DLR Group has announced the acquisition of San Francisco based luxury interiors firm BraytonHughes Design Studios. BraytonHughes is a full-service interior design and architecture firm founded in 1991 with work spanning hospitality, corporate, private clubs, multi-family, residential, and institutional projects. BraytonHughes will relocate to DLR Group’s San Francisco office at 235 Montgomery Street this spring. Interior designers Janea Nakagawa, Rachel Fischbach, and Kiko Singh; and architects Joel Villalon and Towan Kim join DLR Group as principals.

Armadillo

Armadillo, the Australian-born global rug business, announced the appointment of Mark Haysman in the newly created position of global chief executive officer. He brings extensive experience in consumer goods, including at Mighty Craft Limited, Carlton & United Breweries, and Lion Nathan, with a track record for building high-performing teams and constructive cultures while delivering business growth.

Jamie Stern Furniture, Carpet, Leather & Fabric

Jamie Stern Furniture, Carpet, Leather & Fabric announces the appointment of Roya Gholizadeh as director of production and business development—carpet division. She will oversee the company’s entire carpet and rug division, including relationships with designers, clients, manufacturers and company reps, as the division continues to grow. Gholizadeh brings over two decades of international interior design and product development experience to her new role, including high-end residential design as well as corporate, hospitality, product and furniture design. In addition, the company has named two new sales representatives. they are Franco Santorelli for the mid-Atlantic region and Laura Guttierez for sales to the Southern California and Las Vegas markets.

IIDA NY

The International Interior Design Association New York Chapter (IIDA NY) is honored to announce the winners of its third annual Hazel Siegel Scholarship: Dohee Kim from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Giuliana Grosso from the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), and Autumn Howard from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The recipients received an all-expense-paid, three-day trip to IIDA’s SHIFT Conference in Dallas February 14-16, accompanied by Michelle Schutt, AIA Associate and CertainTeed Architectural Solutions Manager, and a one-year IIDA student membership to the NY chapter.

Svigals + Partners

New Haven-based architecture firm Svigals + Partners has announced the promotions of five key staff members to associate principal and associate positions. Newly named to the position of associate principal are Brian Stancavage, AIA, CDT and Cheryl Hart, director of marketing and business development. The promoted associates include office manager and project accounting coordinator, Debbie Ferrell, plus architects April Gaddis, AIA, and Bryan Moore, AIA.

Plunkett Raysich Architects

Jedd Heap has been promoted to the ownership group of Plunkett Raysich Architects as partner. He has been actively involved in more than eighty projects during his first four years at PRA. Recent examples of his completed work include new law offices for Berlin Patten Ebling in St. Petersburg, Florida, The Gulf Coast Community Foundation Philanthropy Center in Sarasota, St. Faustina Catholic Church in Clermont, Suncoast Orthopaedic Institute in Venice, and the City of North Port Public Safety Building which recently won the AIA Florida 2023 People’s Choice Award. A current project is the USF Sarasota-Manatee Student Center & Residence Hall, currently in construction.

RODE

Boston-based RODE Architects has announced five staff promotions. Michael DelleFave has been named studio director; Lucas Herringshaw and Ruthie Kuhlman have been promoted to senior associates; Nick Ruggeri has been named associate; and Deidre Lamoureux has been promoted to associate and director of finance.

Pfluger Architects

The Texas-based architecture firm Pfluger Architects has expanded their educational design and consulting team across Texas. In the past year, Pfluger made several strategic hires to enhance its ability to serve its clients. Recent notable additions to the Pfluger team include: Connie Rivera as co-managing principal of the Corpus Christi office; Brenda Swirczynski, a former educator and curriculum coordinator, as an Educational Facility Planner based in the Dallas office; Braden Haley as senior project manager in the San Antonio office; Cody Cunningham, as a principal and director of communications and community engagement. With 114 employees across five Texas locations, Pfluger anticipates further expansion in 2024.

Atelier Castagna

Italian interior and product design professional Martina Castagna has launched a new studio in the interior and product design space. The studio will use an artificial intelligence-based approach to distinguish itself through technological innovation. Castagna will serve as CEO.

S/L/A/M Collaborative

The S/L/A/M Collaborative has made 33 leadership promotions across the firm’s nine studios in Boston, Denver, Glastonbury, Iowa City, Orlando, Atlanta and Providence. The promotions include Karen A. Parzych, Roderick L. Bouchard Jr, and Frederick C. Godbolt, who have been elevated to Principal & Shareholder. Nathan Bernier, Shane Clark, and Matthew Nelson have been promoted to associate principals. Paul Baldinger has been named corporate market leader of SLAM’s Glastonbury, CT studio.

Ware Malcomb

Ware Malcomb announced Shannon Suess has joined the firm’s Seattle office as director, interior architecture & design. In this role, she will focus on the growth of the office’s Interior Architecture & Design practice, and overall business development within the Seattle market and beyond.

HGA

Mia Blanchett has been promoted to CEO at HGA. Blanchett joined HGA in 1989 and, for the last 35 years, has elevated the firm’s national prominence through successive leadership roles across its broad-ranging sectors of focus. She also has been a voice for gender equity in architecture with HGA’s internal equity council and steering committee, distinguishing the firm as an industry model for workplace equity, mentorship and career growth. In her new role as CEO, she will be responsible for executing the firm’s strategic plan, which includes many of her own contributions.

estudioMBC

Mariela Buendia-Corrochano announced the launch of her new firm estudioMBC, which will focus on commercial workplace and real estate strategy, building repositioning and transformation and interior design services as well as new homes and renovations, and architectural conversions of historic structures into net zero Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).  The firm recently signed its first client, a confidential law firm.  For 25 years, Buendia-Corrochano held senior positions at Gensler where most recently she was design principal and previously the firm’s global design leader and  regional professional service firms practice area leader based in the Washington D.C. office.

Caroline Murphy has been appointed design engagement strategist at SANDOW. Murphy will spearhead efforts to nurture and engage the company’s growing community of early-career designers, fostering connections, inspiration, and professional development within the group, as well as with SANDOW Design Group’s brand partners. Murphy brings experience in both the field of interior architecture and design as well as supporting burgeoning designer peers. Prior to joining SANDOW Design Group, she served as Job Captain of Interior Architecture for Ware Malcomb. Before that, she held positions and internships at Wold Architects and Engineers, Richard Leggin Architects, details, inc., and Jennifer Sullivan Interiors.

Bockus Payne

Oklahoma-based Bockus Payne has announced the promotion of three individuals. They are Chris Cleburn and Mathew Siebert to managing principal and Collin Fleck to director of design. The promotions represent an upcoming generation of leadership at the firm as it passes 36 years in operation and will be part of a multi-year leadership transition plan.

Bjelin

Bjelin, formerly Välinge Flooring, has recently hired Fredrik Alfredsson as global head of sales. He will be responsible for all flooring product sales under the Bjelin brand. He joins the company from Sweden’s leading flooring distributor SGD, where he served as CEO.

EDG Interior Architecture + Design

David Hard has joined EDG Interior Architecture + Design as senior design strategist at its Novato, California headquarters in Marin County. Hard has He has played pivotal roles at Vanderbyl Design, Starbucks, Lyric, and Kayak Hotels. David holds an architecture degree from California College of the Arts. He is currently engaged in crafting unforgettable hotel and resort experiences in diverse locations, including the Dominican Republic, the Big Island of Hawaii, Jasper Park in Alberta, Canada, and Reno, Nevada.

The new additions are Stephanie Kingsnorth and Jeff Young to the EC as executive directors, and Paul Grillo and Salema Gumbs as ex officio members. The new members join Brad Perkins, Mary-Jean Eastman, Andrew Adelhardt, Shawn Basler, Nick Leahy, Jeff Brand, Hilary Bertsch, Jason Haim, Barbara Mullenex, and Supriya Thyagarajan. Stephanie Kingsnorth is an Los Angeles-based architect who joined the firm through its 2021 merger with Pfeiffer Partners. Jeff Young is co-managing principal of the Pittsburgh studio. Paul Grillo is principal and chief financial officer. Salema Gumbs is principal and director of human resources with a 23 year tenure in the New York office.

Array Architects

Array Architects has acquired DCC Design Group, based in Wilmington, which is the leading healthcare-focused interior design firm in the mid-Atlantic region. As a result Array and DCC’s clients, many of whom were already shared, now benefit from a deeper roster of interior designers. As part of the merger, DCC’s former president has stepped into the role of principal and practice leader, interior design.

Perkins&Will

The global architecture and design leader Perkins&Will has opened a new full-service studio in Kansas City. It will deliver local services in sports, recreation, and entertainment; healthcare; higher education; science and technology; and sustainability consulting. While Perkins&Will has worked in the Kansas City region for decades, the new office reflects growing demand from clients in the Midwest generally as the area experiences some of the highest population growth in the region. Leadership of the Kansas City studio will include Lindsey Peckinpaugh as regional director; Ernest Joyner as managing director; Dale Duncan as operations director; Jeff Sittner and Erica Muhlenbruch as leaders in the sports, recreation, and entertainment practice; and Phaedra Svec as director of regenerative design.

Rapt Studio

Britt Hull joins Rapt Studio as Head of Brand. A multi-disciplinary designer who started her career in packaging and identity design, Hull’s client portfolio features brands such as Coca-Cola, Levi’s, Google, and Whole Foods. Through this leadership role, Hull will spearhead Rapt’s team of designers and strategic thinkers in brand strategy and design initiatives. Hull’s award-winning work has been showcased at SFMOMA and recognized by prestigious industry awards such as the ONE SHOW, D&AD, Graphis, Communication Arts, The Clio Awards, and Cannes Lions. Notably, her teams have received accolades from the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum as well as a Grammy.

ROAM Interior Design

HKS has announced the launch of ROAM, a new independently operated luxury design firm specializing in the hospitality and residential categories. The firm was previously operated as HKS Hospitality Interiors. It will be led by design veterans Mary Alice Palmer and Olga Acosta and their award-winning team of interior designers and interior architects. Newly independent, the firm may now more freely showcase their work and operate independently with external partners, expanding the firm’s reach. Its portfolio spans best-in-class names in hospitality, with award-winning properties like the Bishop’s Lodge Auberge Resorts Collection in New Mexico, Esperanza Auberge Resorts Collection in Cabo San Lucas, W Bellevue Hotel in Washington state, and AMAALA Triple Bay Yacht Club in Saudi Arabia under its belt.

Valerio Dewalt Train

Valerio Dewalt Train has made two new leadership promotions. They are Sheri Andrews to principal and Peter Wojtowicz to senior associate. Sheri joined VDT in 2006. Her project experience includes recent expansion and renovation of the Univ of Chicago Laboratory Schools, including Earl Shapiro Hall and Gordon Parks Arts Hall in Chicago, Illinois; Vue53 Graduate Student Residences in Chicago; the Canopy Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Google Tech Corners Campus in Sunnyvale, California. Peter joined the firm in 2015. His project experience includes the 8 East Huron apartments in Chicago, Illinois; Omega Yeast Labs in Chicago, Illinois; and the URP Innovation One office building in Madison, Wisconsin.

Momentum Textiles & Wallcovering

Julia Gillespie has joined Momentum as VP of sustainability. Gillespie is a veteran of National Kitchen & Bath Association and Crypton. In her new role she will orchestrate a comprehensive strategy that amplifies the brand’s commitment to advancing environmental, social, and transparent practices. Gillespie will lead a team with the goal of elevating Momentum’s existing sustainability mission to drive further impactful and resilient solutions to the market.

Relativity Architects

Jianxin Sun has been promoted to director of housing at Relativity Architects. He will oversee the firm’s affordable and market-rate housing projects for low-income families, seniors, and veterans, and will manage ground-up construction as well as renovations/ revitalizations of existing buildings. Sun has been with the firm since 2015 and has worked on award-winning projects such as Imagine Village, an affordable Los Angeles County community for families and formerly unhoused military veterans, and 7th Street Apartments, a mixed-use development that provides affordable housing for the chronically homeless in Los Angeles.

AIA California

Darrell S. “Rocky” Rockefeller, CEO, president and senior partner of Rockefeller Kempel Architects, has been named the American Institute of Architects California’s 2024-2025 vice president of professional practice. Rocky is a respected member of the architectural and academic community, having held teaching positions at both UCLA and Cal Poly Pomona’s Interior Architecture Master’s Degree Programs where he gives the same attention to detail and high performance as in his client work. The new position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including identifying emerging issues affecting the practice of architecture, coordinating state-level programs, serving as chair of the Professional Practice Advisory Committee (PPAC) and more.

Female Design Council

The FDC has a new director, Angharad Coates. Coates brings 14 years of experience with artists, designers and creatives, and has worked in New York, Milan and Paris. She served as the director of communications at the New York Academy of Art for seven years, and most recently was managing partner at Camron, a design-focused global agency. She will will work alongside Lora Appleton, founder of the FDC and kinder MODERN, to expand membership, create new partnerships, and grow the organization nationally.

Cooper Robertson

Partner Donald Clinton is stepping down from Cooper Robertson at the end of 2023 after a 30-year tenure, signaling a new chapter in the firm’s leadership. Partners Mike Aziz, Bruce Davis, Erin Flynn, and John Kirk will steward the firm into the next generation. Two additional newly appointed senior leaders are director of architecture Elizabeth Stoel and director of urban design Brad Barnett.

Design Industry News: Who’s Making Moves?

Gensler

After nearly 20 years of leadership, Andy Cohen and Diane Hoskins will transition from their roles as co-CEOs to become the firm’s first global co-chairs. As part of a planned succession strategy, Cohen and Hoskins welcome a new generation of collaborative leadership, naming Julia Simet and Jordan Goldstein as incoming co-CEOs to lead the firm’s day-to-day operations, effective January 1, 2024. Goldstein and Simet each bring over 25 years of leadership to their new roles. They currently serve as co-firm managing principals, splitting responsibility for the firm’s U.S. and international regions. As co-CEOs, they will manage Gensler’s day-to-day operations across the firm’s 53 global offices and 33 practice areas, oversee more than 3,500 client relationships, promote a culture of diversity and inclusion for over 6,000 Gensler people globally, and maintain standards of innovation and design excellence.

Sims Patrick Studio

Atlanta-based luxury interior design firm Sims Patrick Studio has announced six new team members, comprising two leadership, one administrative, and three design roles. They are: Stephanie Head and Katrina Garcia, design directors; Philip Zein, design lead; Jake Schibi, technical lead; Ansley Kaase, project designer; and Nicole McCrimmon, studio coordinator.

Perkins&Will

The Dallas studio of Perkins&Will has made two new additions. Eurico Francisco has joined as design principal and Amber Wernick as director of practice development. Francisco has an extensive portfolio that includes healthcare, government, academic, research, hospitality, multi-family, and mixed-use facilities. Amber Wernick is an award-winning interior designer who worked for Perkins&Will between 2008 and 2015.

Casey Kent has joined the Austin studio of Perkins&Will as its new corporate and commercial, civic, and cultural practice leader. Kent will oversee project design and delivery for a diverse range of clients, including both public and private organizations while expanding the Austin studio’s presence in the growing Central Texas region. In recent years, Kent has focused on commercial projects for clients such as Hines, Vantage Data Centers, Interpublic Group, Google, USAA, Cloudflare, and Unico Properties.

Additionally, the firm has opened a studio in Philadelphia, a move that grows its northeastern US practice. Leadership of the Perkins&Will Philadelphia studio will include regional managing director Bill Harris; managing director Robert Clemens; and health practice leader Laura Morris. The local Philadelphia practices will closely collaborate with Northeast regional teams in New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C., and will leverage the firm’s global expertise to respond to the unique design challenges faced by clients in the greater Philadelphia area.

SGA

The multidisciplinary architecture, design and planning firm SGA has made the addition of a director of sustainable design in the Boston office. Sadaf Jafari has a decade of experience in both architecture and engineering fields, with successes in maximizing energy-efficiency strategies, implementing energy modeling, and ensuring code & certification compliance. The addition furthers the firm’s commitment to improve the built environment.

Legrand

Jane White has joined Legrand in the newly creative role of chief diversity and engagement officer for Legrand, North and Central America. She will be a part of the executive staff and will lead efforts to attract, retain, and develop a diverse and highly engaged workforce. White brings over 25 years of experience, notably serving an instrumental role for several groups including LNCA’s Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and the Black Professional Network ERG.

Multistudio

Bridget Lowe has been appointed chief marketing officer at Multistudio, working out of their Kansas City studio. She brings 15 years of strategic and creative marketing expertise across design, architecture. In her role she will operate as a member of the leadership team and will oversee the brand’s marketing, creative, consumer insights, and holistic communications. Lowe previously served as a principal and director of marketing for the Americas at Populous, where she oversaw marketing, communications, public relations, and business development.

WATG

Natalie Ruiz has been appointed associate principal of luxury multifamily residential and senior/later living at WATG, a leader in luxury hospitality design. Ruiz joins WATG as an industry expert within the multifamily and senior/later living sector.

HOK

HOK has added senior design leaders in several of their studios. The new appointments are Ryan Barnes, director of design, interiors for the Denver and St. Louis studios; Marianne Weiss, director of design, interiors in the firm’s new Boston studio; and Alia Centofanti, director of design, interiors in London.

Pandul

The Danish lighting object manufacturer Pandul is now a part of Carl Hansen & Søn. The company’s operation will continue unchanged in the new set-up, and Carl Hansen & Søn will continue distributing Pandul’s lighting fixtures through existing sales channels. The Pandul collection consists of iconic lighting objects designed by master architects Hans J. Wegner, Erik Magnussen, Henning Koppel, and Jørgen Gammelgaard.

Perkins Eastman

Ray Brower has joined Perkins Eastman as principal in the firm’s Washington, D.C. studio and is now part of the firm’s healthcare practice. Brower is an expert in strategic facility planning, pre-design operational planning and programming, medical planning, and project management with more than 40 years of experience. Select projects include the Jefferson Health system-wide master plan in southern New Jersey, Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY, and MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

Spectorgroup

NYC-based architecture and interior design firm Spectorgroup announced three new hires. They are: Sefako Ketosugbo as senior designer, Olivia Holub as senior architect, and Sol Seong as intermediate designer.

Hirsch Bedner Associates

HBA has promoted Sarah Hullinger and Brian Schaer from senior project designers to associates in San Francisco and Atlanta. Hullinger has more than two decades of experience in hospitality, commercial and residential design, with 10-plus years at HBA San Francisco. She has contributed to the success of recent projects such as Elusa Winery at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Napa Valley and The Lodge at Pebble Beach. Schaer has spent the majority of his 24-plus-year design career immersed in the world of luxury design, working with many of the industry’s most esteemed brands, operators and clients. is project history includes Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers in Azerbaijan; The St. Regis Abu Dhabi; and the former BLT Prime by David Burke in Washington, D.C.

Maureen Carley-Vallejo has joined the team at Array Architects, a leading healthcare design and architecture firm. She is an award-winning industry leader with over 30 years’ experience, and her work has been selected for INTERIOR DESIGN’S Best of Year Awards.

Arte USA

Arte USA, a division of Belgium-based wallcoverings designer and manufacturer the Arte Group, has appointed Adriana De Martino to the newly-created position of area manager for the northeast territory.  She will report directly to Bill Calhoun, the president of Arte USA and will be based in New York City. Prior to joining Arte, Adriana held senior positions with several European and American companies including Cosentino, DEDAR, Inc. and Zimmer & Rhode USA.

Carnegie

Carnegie has acquired the Xorel Artform manufacturing division of DFB Sales, Inc.—a leading New York based producer of interior finish products. This acquisition will give Carnegie end-to-end control of Xorel Artform from design to manufacture and distribution, allowing for an increase in overall production volume and expanded product options.

Michael Graves Architecture

Julie Yurasek has been appointed international director of interior design at Michael Graves Architecture. Yurasek previously held the positions of senior interior designer and director at Michael Graves Architecture during her earlier tenure there, which began in 1996. She cites her work on the St. Regis Cairo at Nile Corniche in Egypt as one of her greatest accomplishments.

LSM Studio

LSM Studio has promoted three new partners: Rebecca Montesi, Donnie Morphy, and Mario DeGisi. The three will work out of the firm’s Washington, D.C. studio.

Robert A.M. Stern Architects

RAMSA has appointed two new partners and named a new CEO. The two new partners, Kevin J. Kelly and Kyung Sook Gemma Kim, will join an existing cohort of 17 esteemed partners. Lisa M. Matkovic, who previously served as chief operating officer, has been appointed to the role of CEO. Kevin joined RAMSA in 2011 and has supported the firm’s growth across domestic and international markets. Leveraging his design expertise, he has managed several important projects in RAMSA’s international portfolio, including numerous large-scale planning projects in China; the Kaplankaya Marina Village in Bobruk, Turkey; and the Kowloon Peak apartment complex in Hong Kong. Gemma has been with RAMSA for over 15 years, playing a key role in expanding the firm’s international presence. She spearheaded RAMSA’s entrance into South Korea, leading a signature corporate showplace in Seoul for one of the country’s most prominent companies.

Springs Creative

Springs Creative has acquired the Frank Cassata Design Archives that will now be part of their Baxter Mill Archive, making it the largest such design archive in the industry with more than 1 million fabrics, documents, and other design assets. The Frank Cassata Archive library specializes in traditional to modern designs, one-of-a-kind apparel and home decorative archives, as well as an extensive collection of over 700 wallpaper and fabric swatch books.

Tom Dixon

The British design brand Tom Dixon has announced the promotion of Henry Jones to the position of CEO. Jones previously served as managing director at HAY and senior vice president. Prior to HAY, Jones held the positions of European president and CEO at textile giant Himatsingka and global sales and marketing director at the renowned British brand designers guild.

Moody Nolan

Moody Nolan has hired Garfield Peart as director of operations for its Atlanta studio. Peart spent the first seven years in the United States Air Force where he honed his skills on active duty, specifically in military project management, working on a slate of international projects from Washington, D.C. to cities across Europe. Following active duty, Garfield remained in the Air Force Reserve, and after 28 years of service, he retired from the United States Air Force this past June. Garfield’s portfolio of work largely consists of projects in aviation and government, industries he looks forward to championing in his new role.

Keilhauer

Keilhauer has announced the addition of two new leadership team members to their marketing department. Susan Anderson has joined the company as VP of marketing and customer experience, and Sarah Lostracco has joined as the new senior marketing manager. Susan joins Keilhauer from Mastermind Toys. Prior to Mastermind Toys, Susan spent almost a decade at P&G leading brands such as Pampers, Swiffer, and Crest. Sarah joins Keilhauer from McCann Canada, where she worked for over 15 years, most recently serving as Group Account Director for well-known organizations such as Petro-Canada and Suncor.

HLW

HLW has appointed principal and workplace sector lead Melissa Strickland as managing director of the firm’s New Jersey office. Melissa will lead the Madison practice in strengthening and diversifying its portfolio of work with an increasing emphasis on agility, sustainability, and innovation, while continuing to cultivate the talents of its dynamic designers and consultants. She joined the team in 2017 and has overseen projects totaling millions of square feet for long-standing clients such as Prudential, Everest, and Kyowa Kirin, and recently completed a string of new headquarters spaces for organizations including Audible, Eisai, Integra and Kering.

Kostow Greenwood Architects

At Kostow Greenwood Architects,  Lena Dau-Ping Fan has been promoted to principal from associate principal and Gary Li has promoted to principal from associate architect. The two new principals bring extensive project and client experience to their new roles having worked closely with founding principal Michael Kostow and having benefited from the culture of design excellence and learning embodied in the firm.

EMU Group

Outdoor furniture solutions brand EMU Group has welcomed Enrico Cavallari as its CEO. extensive international experience in leading FMCG companies such as Colgate-Palmolive, Ferrero and Reckitt- Benckiser, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in marketing, sales and general management in Italy, Luxembourg, New York, Istanbul and London. In 2010, he returned to Italy for Technogym as Business Unit Director. In 2013 he worked with Axa, then came back to Technogym in 2017, where he was responsible for Technogym Home. In 2022, he became CEO of Tecno and Zanotta.

FLOS

Barbara Corti has been named chief creative director of Flos. In the new role, she will she will set the creative strategy for the development of product lines in every division, as well as content creation strategies through all the brand’s online and offline channels. Corti has been global chief marketing officer at Flos since 2017 and a member of its steering committee since 2019. She is the first person to take on the position, which until previously did not exist at Flos. Corti worked for more than 10 years as creative director in communication agencies and for seven years as creative director at Condé Nast Italia, as well as gaining experience as a consultant and mentor for various start-ups in the world of fashion.

Buzzispace

Tommaso Baldini has been appointed CEO and managing director of the Belgian acoustic design brand BuzziSpace. Baldini will succeed Steve Symons, who will now act as President of the supervisory board. Tomasso will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of BuzziSpace and will work closely with Symons on product design direction. Genevieve Lemire, director of North America for BuzziSpace, has accepted the role of chief commercial officer.

Heller

Paolo Cravedi has been appointed vice president of wholesale. He will work alongside president and CEO John Edelman and chief operating officer Andrew McPhee to expand Heller’s reach across North America. Cravedi is an experienced home, design, and lifestyle industry executive, with a track record of leading sales growth across various channels. Cravedi most recently served as president of Calligaris Group Americas, where he oversaw the management and development of the Calligaris Group’s business in North, Central, and South America for their entire family of brands and in all channels, including wholesale. Prior to that, he held positions across a variety of top design and lifestyle brands including Moleskine America, where he worked as president, and Alessi U.S. as managing director for more than 10 years.

Lingrove

Talley Goodson, the founder of Felt Right, a company dedicated to providing transformative material solutions for both living and workspace environments, has joined Lingrove’s board of directors. Prior to Felt Right, Talley served as the visionary leader behind 3form, Inc., a company that revolutionized the world of translucent resin architectural design materials. Under Talley’s guidance, 3form garnered numerous industry accolades and recognition for its groundbreaking contributions to design, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility.

Vocon

The national strategy, architecture, and design firm Vocon has announced the expansion of its New York team with workplace leader Wyett Baker. Baker brings more than 25 years of experience in the design and construction of corporate, educational, and cultural projects nationally. Prior to joining Vocon, Wyett served as an account leader and design manager specializing in large and complex projects at Gensler. His work spans the United States, and he has spent the last ten years working with some of the largest professional and financial service firms on corporate headquarters projects in the New York Metropolitan Area.

Alejandro Gala has been named TPG Architecture’s newest creative director. Gala brings nearly 20 years of industry experience to his new role, including a global portfolio spanning the retail, hotel, commercial, and building repositioning market sectors. Having worked and traveled to over 65 countries, Gala is passionate about immersing himself in different cultures and uses this as the foundation for his designs. After spending many years in places where language presented itself to be a barrier, Gala naturally developed a visual communication skill set that he has since used throughout his career, showcasing design ideas through photos, drawings, and graphics.

Cook brings nearly 30 years of industry experience to her new role, having previously served as director, CX innovation with Georgia Pacific and as director of strategic insights and innovation with Shaw Industries.

Moody Nolan

Kathryn T. Prigmore has joined Moody Nolan as director of operations for the DC studio. Kathryn brings over four decades of firm leadership, project management, and academic experience, having served in leadership roles at numerous firms, guiding business operations, developing training programs, building and fostering client relationships, and implementing good business practices.

LK Architecture

LK Architecture, an esteemed national architectural firm founded in 1967 with a breadth of projects spanning 50 states, has announced the promotion of Lisa A. Haude to senior vice president. Haude joined LK in March of 2022 as director and recently completed the akb at Archer Hotel in Austin, Texas and has numerous other lifestyle-focused properties in the pipeline from West Palm Beach, Florida, all the way to Indian Wells, California. In her new role she oversees the interiors studio, particularly lifestyle, boutique-branded, and high-end projects.

Lissoni Architecture

Piero Lissoni has announced the establishment of Lissoni Architecture, a New York-based studio offering comprehensive architectural services for the United States. It will be led by Lissoni and CEO Stefano Giussani and will integrate interior and architectural expertise. The new architecture studio, which comes comes eight years after the founding of the interiors studio, aims to offer a 360-degree service, transforming the scale of Lissoni’s operations in the U.S.

Henricksen

The full-service contract furniture dealership Henricksen has promoted former architectural products manager Beth Ralston to vice president of business development. Since joining Henricksen in 2020, Beth has overseen the impressive growth of Henricksen’s architectural solutions practice in the Midwest.

GrizForm Design Architects

Tamara Dennis-Gamage has joined the team at GrizForm Design Architects, a leading D.C.-based hospitality design and architecture firm, as an architectural designer. She brings a collaborative and science-driven design approach to the firm’s growing team. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University, making the transition to architecture after realizing the similarities between the scientific method and design-thinking process.

NELSON Worldwide

Tyler Rice has been promoted to director, environmental graphic design at NELSON Worldwide. Tyler will continue to provide high-level creative guidance from a projects’ inception all the way through to completion. With more than 10 years’ experience in the industry, Tyler joined NELSON Worldwide as senior graphic designer in 2021. His prior experience includes time as a designer for a creative agency that produced environmental graphics for major sporting events, stadiums, and training facilities across the country.

Additionally, Brandon Page has joined as vice president of brand communications and environmental graphic design. He will oversee the strategic connection of brand and culture in the physical space across all NELSON Worldwide practices and clients. With more than 25 years of active involvement in the design, brand, and retail community, Brandon has continuously adapted and evolved alongside the rapid changes in the industry. He has worked across the country in Baltimore, San Francisco, Seattle, Cincinnati, and Columbus with some of the most well-known brands in the world, including Target, Tiffany & Co., Nike, KFC, Buffalo Wild Wings, CVS and The Home Depot.

David Shull has also joined the firm as national practice leader, industrial. David joins the firm with over 35 years of industry experience, 11 of which he spent in a similar role, championing innovative solutions in the industrial sector. David has initial plans to expand the firm’s work in technology and life sciences by providing clients with solutions for research and development, manufacturing, and logistics needs.

HOK

HOK has appointed Eli Hoisington and Susan Klumpp Williams as its new co-chief executive officers, succeeding Bill Hellmuth, who passed away on April 6, shortly after his scheduled retirement. They have served as interim co-CEOs since Hellmuth went on medical leave in May 2022, bringing a fresh yet familiar perspective to HOK’s leadership. They have previously led two of the firm’s largest offices and are longstanding executive committee members. Hoisington, the design principal in St. Louis, and Klumpp Williams, the managing principal in Washington, D.C., have collaborated closely with Hellmuth in the past. They will work with HOK’s board to steer the firm’s design vision, business strategy and operations.

Additionally, the firm has established a new studio in Boston, located in the city’s leather district. Led by long-time Bostonian Tom Grimble, the office will support clients throughout the region, including Astra Zeneca, Sanofi, Longfellow and more. He will serve as senior regional practice leader, overseeing a growing team.

Premier

Dallas-based architecture, design, procurement, and capital management firm Premier has hired Patrick Burke as senior vice president of architecture. Before joining Premier, Burke served as vice president and principal at BRR Architecture. Prior to that, he served as chief operating officer and principal at RHA Architects for four years.

Additionally, Abby Shehan has been promoted to senior design director. She started her tenure at Premier in 2015 and has led interior design teams on numerous new-build and renovation projects in the multifamily and hospitality sectors. Shehan previously served as the senior designer at Duncan and Miller Design.

Dash Design

Dash Design has announced the launch of Dash Dine, a new division of the firm, which will be dedicated specifically to restaurant design and all aspects of food and beverage interiors. It will be led by design director Kristin Cullen, who joined dash design in 2011 and has led the F&B studio within the firm.

Belwith Keeler Décor Solutions

Belwith Keeler Décor Solutions, which includes Hickory Hardware, Belwith Keeler and its newly launched high-end hardware brand, Keeler Brass Company, has announced several promotions and new hires. Among them are the promotion of Knikki Grantham to creative director and David Warmenhoven to director of product innovation. Additionally, Nick Clark has joined the team as marketing manager and Jon Reibel has joined as e-commerce manager.

Stone Source

Ceramic Technics and Stone Source companies have officially merged to operate under the Stone Source name. The new company is a fusion of shared strengths in design focused around solutions for hospitality spaces and natural stone.

Fritz Hansen

Chris Paulsen has joined Danish heritage brand Fritz Hansen as vice president Americas. He is tasked with accelerating growth and empowering the local market and brings more than a decade of retail and contract management experience to his new role, most recently as managing director Americas for GUBI and formerly as general manager at Design Within Reach.

HED

National architecture and engineering firm HED announced the appointment of former CEO J. Peter Devereaux to the newly created founding principal role. Devereaux has served as CEO since 2015 and has been at HED for over 37 years. In his new role, he will continue to serve as a resource on long-term strategic projects and relationship-driven initiatives.

Journey

Journey, the design innovation firm of which ICRAVE is now a part, has hired the former SVP of ODA New York, Alex Polier, to be the company’s managing director of business development. A marketing and communications expert with more than 20 years of experience, Alex was most recently the senior vice president of business development of the award-winning architecture firm ODA, where she led the executive team and brought in instrumental opportunities in new sectors, including the Edition Hotel in Fort Lauderdale and the first mass timber residential building in Washington, D.C.

Kohler Co.

U.K.-based Kast Concrete Basins, known for its colorful, contemporary basins and sinks, has joined the Kohler Co. family of businesses. It was founded by Tim Bayes, who will now serve as Kast’s Managing Director/Head of Creative.  Kast Concrete Sinks joins Kohler’s Luxury Brands portfolio, reporting to Bonnie Choruby, president Luxury Brands, Kohler Co., alongside design leaders Ann Sacks, Kallista, and Robern.

INC Architecture & Design

Two veteran designers at INC Architecture & Design, Hilary Kroll and Tyler Kleck, have become partners. Hilary and Tyler join founding partners Adam Rolston, Gabriel Benroth, and Drew Stuart in leading the 50-person studio, which is headquartered in New York. Hilary Kroll, partner and sustainability director, joined in 2006. Tyler, partner and branding director, has been with the team since 2007.

Fisher & Paykel

Fisher & Paykel has appointed Eli Winkler as their new chief operating officer for the US Market. Winkler will continue to build on the positive growth for the premium appliance brand while overseeing product operations and teams for both Fisher & Paykel and DCS Appliances. He will be based out of the Costa Mesa, California headquarters and brings an extensive marketing background, including leadership roles at globally renowned brands such as Sur La Table and La-Z-Boy.

Ware Malcomb

Jason Dooley has been promoted to regional vice president at Ware Malcomb, based in the firm’s Atlanta office. In this role, Dooley is responsible for the overall leadership of the Southeast Region, including the Atlanta, Miami and Nashville offices along with executive oversight of the firm’s multifamily and healthcare practices. Dooley has held several leadership roles in his seven years with the firm and was a principal for the Atlanta office prior to his most recent promotion.

Additionally, the firm has made leadership changes in its New York City and Newark, NJ offices. Vincent Sorge has joined Ware Malcomb as Director, Interior Architecture & Design in their New York office. Also in New York, Ware Malcomb promoted Damian Melo to Director, Interior Architecture & Design. In Newark, Ware Malcomb has promoted Meera Bahukutumbi to Studio Manager, Interior Architecture & Design.

In the Los Angeles office, Sergio Valentini has been promoted to principal. Valentini joined Ware Malcomb in 2019 as studio manager, architecture. In 2020, he was promoted to director, architecture and in 2021, he landed his most recent role of regional director prior to this promotion. His 20 years of experience leading large international projects from early concept stage through construction administration have helped the Los Angeles office develop a diverse portfolio across industry sectors.

Marvel

Neil Bartley has joined Marvel as director of interior design. He will lead interiors for the firm. Most recently, Neil served as associate principal and studio director at A+I in New York. While there, he developed interior and strategic design concepts for a variety of commercial, hospitality and workplace environments.

Kostow Greenwood Architects

Managing principal Jane Greenwood has stepped down from her role and will devote time to pursue new career interests and take some personal time for travel. Her transition follows twenty successful years of co-ownership and leadership with founding principal Michael Kostow.

MG2

Architecture and design firm MG2 welcomes Sarah Wortman as director of marketing. She is an experienced AEC professional with more than 20 years in the industry and has held senior marketing roles at architecture and design firms across the country, where she successfully implemented strategies that resulted in increased revenue and market share.

Perkins&Will

Perkins&Will has made promotions in the New York studio. Robert Clemens has been promoted to managing director and Bill Harris has moved into an expanded regional role. Clemens joined the firm in 2021 and has served as the studio’s director of operations and leader of its commercial and emerging transit practices. Bill Harris will continue in an expanded regional managing director role after nearly six years as New York studio managing director. Under Harris’s leadership, Perkins&Will’s New York studio has experienced significant growth, nearly doubling its staff size and completing or embarking on a range of significant projects. Clemens has more than 25 years of experience as an architect and has been actively practicing in New York since 2008.

Additionally, the firm will expand its aviation practice with new leadership. Julie Wienberg, a national leader in aviation architecture, has joined the firm in the Denver office. Wienberg brings 26 years of experience in the planning, design, and management of complex aviation and transportation projects across the country, including the development, integration, and delivery of new terminals, concourses, and expansions.

Mannington

Mannington Commercial has named Cindy Kaufman as new vice president of marketing. Cindy will be responsible for Mannington Commercial’s commitment to, and investment in, a brand-centric philosophy, and elevating customer engagement, inclusive culture, and thought leadership – all with a keen eye on the design community. Kaufman was most recently the director of marketing at Shaw Contract Hospitality. Before joining Shaw Contract, she spent over 25 years in various roles across Turner Broadcasting, Kellogg’s, Interface, Red Bull Energy Drink, and multiple Olympic Games.

Keilhauer

Mike Keilhauer has transitioned to CEO of Keilhauer and Meghan Sherwin has been appointed to the president role. Keilhauer will continue on with his role as creative director, leading product design and designer relations. Meghan Sherwin has been with Keilhauer since 2017, most recently as chief marketing officer.

THG Paris

THG Paris, the French atelier for luxury bathroom and kitchen fittings, has appointed Alexandra Singer to creative director. With experience of more than 15 years, five of these spent working as managing director, this creative role will see Alexandra bring strong marketing, business and product capabilities to further accelerate THG Paris’ growth.

Adam Reeder has been promoted to president at LightArt. Reeder began his career in 2005 with LightArt’s parent company, 3form. He has served in many capacities for both companies, including sales, marketing, and operations, and is known for his hands-on leadership approach, spanning the life cycle of projects.

Brandon Architects

Architect Ryan McDaniel has been named partner of Brandon Architects, alongside the founder and president, Christopher Brandon. McDaniel is the first partner ever to be named at the firm. He was an early hire, having joined the firm in 2012. He has dedicated himself to the pursuit of design excellence and sustainable development in both residential and non-residential buildings.

Lucida Surfaces

Flooring solution designer and manufacturer has hired Yehuda Fisch as regional sales manager, where he will be responsible for overseeing the Florida, Georgia, and Carolina regions. Following a move to Florida from his hometown in Ontario, Canada, Fisch has effectively managed the Florida sales division over the last six years, establishing strong relationships with architects, designers, developers, contractors, and property managers.

V Starr

V Starr has announced promotions and new appointments to its leadership team, who are all located in the firm’s West Palm Beach studio. With the continued leadership of Principal Sonya Haffey and Design Director Holly Nixon, V Starr has added two members to its senior leadership team, Jennifer Phillips and Gaby Fiallos, and promoted Gracie Huden from Junior Designer.

Nena Martin has joined DLR Group as interior design leader in Austin. With over 25 years of experience in interior architecture and design, Nena brings a wealth of expertise and a passion for creating exceptional spaces. She has worked with notable clients such as Apple, Meta, PIMCO, and National Instruments. DLR Group has experienced continued growth in Austin with recent project partnerships with Austin ISD, Hines, Under Armour, and the University of Texas.

JCJ Architecture

Barry Goldstein has joined JCJ Architecture as associate principal and managing director. In this dual position, Goldstein will guide project processes, direct resource allocation, and manage project performance around four of JCJ’s regional offices, including Tulsa, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and San Diego. In addition to Goldstein’s appointment, the firm has also recently promoted individuals in Tulsa to senior level positions. Scott Faucheux has joined New York City-based TPG Architecture. Skyline Design

Architectural glass maker Skyline Design has made new hires and leadership transitions as it celebrates its 40 year anniversary. Founder and president Charlie Rizzo retired in January and is now succeeded by Vipul Bhagat. Rizzo will remain actively involved with the company as its chairman of the board, while Baghat will assume the responsibilities of president, overseeing all finances and operations. On the creative marketing team, the firm has added Jessie Devereaux, communications director, and Darcie Young Tashey, marketing director. Atlanta-based specialist in precision architectural metal systems Chris Allen has also recently joined the team, as has national sales director Steve Spangler.

WATG

WATG, a preeminent luxury hospitality design firm, has announced the appointment of Daun St. Amand as global practice principal of luxury multifamily residential and senior/later living. St. Amand joins WATG as an industry expert with over 30 years of experience in global markets. What’s new in the architecture and design industry this spring? It turns out, quite a lot. Take a look at the latest industry moves, promotions, hires at top firms like Perkins&Will and HOK. Not to mention a few mergers and acquisitions.

Haworth Lifestyle Design

Cassina SpA, a company of the Haworth Lifestyle Design group, recently announced that it has reached an agreement for the acquisition of Zanotta, an Italian brand operating in the high-end segment and known for its iconic furniture. Cassina will coordinate a future development plan as Zanotta joins the Haworth Lifestyle Design group, which includes: Cassina, Cappellini, Ceccotti, Karakter, Poltrona Frau, Luxury Living, JANUS Et Cie, Luminaire and Interni.

Harrison

Harrison, a global architecture and interior design agency, appointed Keith Anderson in the new role of global CEO. Company founder and namesake Philip Harrison is officially stepping into the role of chairman. Anderson joined Harrison as a graduate interior designer in the early 2000s and was named COO in 2013. That same year, he was instrumental in launching the Dallas office, where he will remain and lead the agency.

SGA

Lauren Gauthier has joined SGA as director of architecture for the firm’s academic team. She brings more than 10 years of architecture and design experience to SGA as an experienced designer, planner, and registered architect with a focus on strategic planning and design in the academic realm.

NBBJ

NBBJ has made new appointments to the executive leadership team. Robert C. Mankin Jr. has been appointed a managing partner, where he will oversee the firm’s executive team. He takes the reins from Steve McConnell, also a managing partner who is elevated to chair of the firm’s board. In addition to Mankin, NBBJ’s executive team will be comprised of partner Juli Cook, chief operating officer; partner Helen Dimoff, chief marketing officer; and design partner Mindy Levine-Archer.

Italian Radical Design

Italian Radical Design, the group founded by entrepreneurs Sandra and Charley Vezza, announces the acquisition of Meritalia, an Italian brand that has contaminated the world of upholstered furniture with its radical philosophy since the 1990s. Meritalia joins Gufram and Memphis among the company’s acquisitions.

SMEG

SMEG, a leading Italian appliance brand well-known for its classic style and advanced technology, has announced the appointment of Rod Gower as general manager of U.S. operations. Gower brings more than two decades of experience to the role and will be responsible for building and growing major and small domestic appliance categories in the United States. He joins SMEG from LG Electronics, where he held a variety of leadership roles and oversaw major initiatives, including the building of the Luxury Signature Kitchen Suite brand and establishment of the LG Builder Channel.

HOK

Kimberly Dowdell has been appointed as HOK’s director of strategic relationships, a new role based out of the Chicago office but with responsibilities across all of the firm’s offices. Dowdell, previously marketing principal in the firm’s Chicago office, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this newly created position. Working closely with the firm’s regional and market leaders, she will lead HOK’s efforts to develop strategic relationships across its global offices.

Kirtan Patel joins HOK as a technical leader for the firm’s Aviation + Transportation (A+T) group. Based in New York City, Kirtan brings more than two decades of experience managing and designing complex airport terminals and rail transportation projects around the world, including Kansas City International Airport, Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, India and Penn Station in New York City.

9to5 Seating

9to5 Seating has announced that CEO and president Dara Mir will be stepping down from his position. Frederik Fogstad, Flokk Senior Vice President, International, will take over as the new CEO. Mir founded and transformed 9to5 Seating into a major player in the office seating industry. He will remain involved with 9to5 Seating as part of the supervisory board. Prior to joining 9to5 Seating, Fogstad held positions in Varier Furniture, Intersport, Kellogg’s, and Coca-Cola.

FXCollaborative

Florencia Kratsman has been appointed director of interior architecture at FXCollaborative. She brings 25 years in consulting, design, programming and space planning to her leadership of the interiors practice.

B+H Architects

Global design and strategy practice B+H has appointed principal Holly Jordan as the firm’s global sustainability lead. With nearly 25 years of experience transforming the built environment through progressive projects that have achieved passive house, LEED, and net-zero certifications, Holly will be tasked with leading the firm’s global sustainability initiatives and championing the integration of high performance design, low carbon solutions, technical innovations, complete communities and social equity across B+H’s global portfolio of sectors and clients. She has been with the firm since 2011.

Todd Erikson has been appointed director of sales and marketing at Studio Float. Sasaki

Global design firm Sasaki has unveiled a new 64,000-square-foot headquarters in downtown Boston’s 110 Chauncy building. While continuing to practice across the world, this move aligns with Sasaki’s growing portfolio of work within the city of Boston, where the company’s contributions to the built environment stretch back to the 1960s. Recent projects there include a revitalized Boston City Hall Plaza, the under-construction 10 World Trade office/lab tower, and major ongoing collaborations with Harvard University, Northeastern University, Boston College, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, and Boston Children’s Museum.

Lawrence Group and KWK Architects

St. Louis-based architecture firms Lawrence Group and KWK Architects have announced a merger. KWK, a nationally recognized higher education expert, will merge with Lawrence Group to create a singular powerhouse in the higher education market, with more than 140 combined employees to serve colleges and universities nationwide. In addition, because Lawrence Group provides services complementary to KWK—including landscape architecture, furniture procurement, and more—clients will enjoy access to an expanded suite of services. As part of the merger, KWK Architects will relocate to Lawrence Group’s headquarters in downtown St. Louis. KWK will retain its brand identity as well as all its current employees.

HED

Architecture and engineering firm HED has appointed Tania Van Herle and Enrique Suarez as co-CEOs. Van Herle and Suarez will take over from retiring Chairman and CEO J. Peter Devereaux, who served as HED’s CEO since 2015. Tania Van Herle has served as COO since 2017. Enrique Suarez has served as CMO since 2015.

Legrand

Sarah Levine has been appointed director of circular economy at Legrand. Sarah brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in sustainable business practices, having worked with some of the world’s leading companies in this field, including Apple, Mattel, and Boeing. She will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that will help Legrand to reduce waste and maximize the lifespan of products.

FK Architecture

FK Architecture has made two new hires: Connor Privett and Amy VanderMeer. Privett joins the firm as an architectural designer, while VanderMeer joins as a project architect. Both have extensive backgrounds in the architecture industry and skillsets that complement the firm’s wide range of services and talents.

Patterson Flynn

Peter Touma has joined Patterson Flynn as its new president. Peter comes to Patterson Flynn from Bain & Company, a management consultancy. While at Bain & Company, Peter primarily worked with clients in the consumer product and retail sectors based out of New York. Peter will be partnering with Patterson Flynn’s creative director, Pamela Marshall, to continue to grow the company.

TAT

The Architectural Team (TAT) has announced promotions for three senior team members: Meghann Van Dorn and Kelly Margeson, who both take on the role of associate; and Nathan Thomas who has been named TAT’s director of sustainability.

SLAM

National multidisciplinary design practice SLAM has hired principal Luis Vildostegui as practice leader of higher education and promoted Marc Clear to principal and Amy Christmas to national market leader. SLAM also announced the retirement of their long-standing independent education practice co-lead Richard Connell, after handling the role for almost 40 years and completing the design build of over 35 projects.

RODE Architects

Jessica Haley and Ben Wan have been promoted to principal at RODE Architects. Jessica also serves as the director of interior design, and her team is responsible for many of greater Boston’s most loved spaces, including James Beard award-winning chef Karen Akunowicz’s Bar Volpe, Cambria Hotel South Boston, The Lexington and James Beard nominated SRV. Wan, who was the firm’s first employee, is often involved in all aspects of RODE’s design process and internal operations. His work is focused on finding elegant design solutions within the complexities of building programs, urban communities, and diverse user-groups.

Perkins&Will

Angel “AJ” Montero Jr. is joining Perkins&Will as health practice leader. AJ will be based in the Miami office while playing a key role in connecting healthcare clients in the U.S Southeast with Perkins&Will design teams based in Miami, Atlanta, Durham and Charlotte. Originally from Cuba, Montero says his Hispanic heritage shapes his approach to design—including his belief that the best projects are the result of an inclusive design process that supports people of diverse backgrounds.

Louis Poulsen

Louis Poulsen has appointed Austin Durling as its new PR and marketing manager for North America. Durling will work alongside Carly Conelli, CEO, North America, in the newly established Louis Poulsen head office in New York. Durling is an experienced design and lifestyle manager with a background working across the art, home, and design industries. He previously supported the PR efforts for organizations including Kohler, Cosentino, TEFAF, Benjamin Moore, and Chihuly Studio. Durling most recently managed all aspects of PR strategy and activations for Dutch e-bike company, VanMoof.

On the Move: The Latest Design Industry Promotions and Hires

Architects and designers are moving onward and upward, and we’ve got the scoop. Take a look at the latest batch of architecture and design promotions and hires in our March 2023 edition of “On the Move.” From the first female managing director at Perkins&Will’s London studio to a touch of Disney magic at Gensler, don’t miss these developments.

Harrison

The global brand, architecture, and interior design agency Harrison has appointed Keith Anderson as global CEO. Anderson is the current chief operations officer and a long-time Harrison employee who joined as a graduate interior designer in the early 2000s. Company founder and namesake Philip Harrison is officially stepping up into the role of chairman.

Rockfon North America

Rockfon North America, part of ROCKWOOL Group, has named Kirill Fedorovskiy as its new president, effective April 1, 2023. Fedorovskiy will assume the role from John Medio, who is taking up a new challenge within ROCKWOOL Group after nearly 10 years as president of Rockfon North America. Fedorovskiy brings 17 years of international experience within ROCKWOOL Group, holding positions in Russia, Denmark, the U.K. and most recently as ROCKWOOL Insulation’s VP of finance for North America.

Richard Lampert

labelfarm group has acquired the design company Richard Lampert as part of a succession plan. After 30 years in business, Richard Lampert will hand over the reins of his eponymous company to Michael Groth. With over 20 years of experience in the field of high-quality furnishings, Michael Groth will continue to run the company independently from Stuttgart.

P. Christian Bailey has joined the leadership team of Morris Adjmi as a director. Bailey joins with over 25 years of architectural experience, most recently as the founding principal and director of ODA Architecture.

NELSON Worldwide

Shay Lam has joined NELSON Worldwide as studio leader of workplace, asset strategy, and hospitality. He will operate in New York and the tri-state area. Shay has spent the last 20 years of his career crafting hospitality spaces that have redefined the guest experience. At NELSON, Shay will lead a multi-disciplinary studio across the workplace, asset strategy, and hospitality teams and will be responsible for building client relationships to grow the firm’s portfolio.

Additionally, Katie Pass-Brinker has joined the firm as design leader, hospitality. Katie will work closely with the interior design team to create and implement high-level design for the hospitality sector, providing direction and mentorship from concept through construction. She brings 16 years of experience in hospitality design and previously served as design director and principal at Daroff Design.

SieMatic

Hans Henkes has rejoined SieMatic North America as president & CEO. Henkes previously helmed the premium kitchen cabinetry manufacturer from 2008 to 2017, leading the company to record sales growth. Prior to returning to SieMatic last fall, Henkes was consultant to private equity and had served as president & CEO of another well-known German cabinet brand.

LRS Architects

Mira Boumatar and Kelsey Loverro have been promoted to associate at LRS Architects. Boumatar works in various studios, including civic, commercial, housing and adaptive reuse, where her intuitive, technological approach has provided creative opportunities for the firm. Loverro works in the firm’s multi-family housing and workplace studios and has also lent her design expertise to the hospitality and auto sectors.

Michael Graves Architecture

Michael Graves Architecture has announced the acquisition of Walter Robbs Callahan & Pierce Architects, PA, a North Carolina-based architecture firm. This news follows the acquisition of Waldon Studio Architects and New Jersey-based Jose Carballo Architectural Group last year. Under the new company structure, Wesley Curtis, Ken McDaniel, and Matt Messick will serve as principals and existing partners Joe Bircher, Amy West, Katie Pepper, Larry Robbs, Rence Callahan, and Clark Pierce will remain as partners of the firm, which will be known as Walter Robbs Architects PA, a Michael Graves Company, moving forward.

Joshua Thompson has been promoted to director, Interior Architecture & Design in Ware Malcomb’s Downtown San Diego office. In this role, Thompson is responsible for the leadership of the office and continued growth of the Interior Architecture & Design Studio.

Additionally, Maria Rodgers has been promoted to Director, PR & Communications. In her role, Rodgers will focus on further expanding the firm’s media and communications programs and gaining exposure for Ware Malcomb’s growing number of offices across the Americas.

MG2

MG2 has made three promotions in its Seattle office. They are Roy Hague, Amy Hart, and Mitch Pride, all of whom have been promoted to principal. The firm has promoted 99 employees throughout the year in six offices: Seattle, New York, Washington D.C., Irvine, Minneapolis, and Shanghai.

Tiger Leather

Tiger Imports Group (DBA Tiger Leather) and Gruppo Peretti have agreed to a joint venture in the U.S. under the name Peretti Leather Group. Under the agreement, Gruppo Peretti will make a multi-million dollar investment into the company in order to expand its reach among Tiger Leather’s network of Hospitality and Contract customers. Tiger Leather will roll all of its assets, marks, and equity into the joint venture, including its senior leadership team, and will be the first brand under the new company with more brands expected in the future. In conjunction with the joint venture, Tiger Leather recently completed construction on its new corporate headquarters in Greensboro.

NEO Architectural Lighting

NEO Architectural Lighting has made its debut as the exclusive partner for Louis Poulsen commercial lighting in North America. The new Fort Lauderdale-based company specializes in illuminating buildings and their nearby surroundings, with an array of indoor and outdoor lighting products and a mission to humanize spaces with light.

Momentum Textiles & Wallcovering

Momentum Textiles & Wallcoverings has welcomed industry titan and former Mohawk Group SVP Paul Cleary as its new CEO and president. He brings an impressive track record of C-Suite experience and more than three decades in the commercial interiors industry.

Dyer Brown

Dyer Brown has announced the elevation of two of the national architecture and design firm’s most valued leaders to the role of principal: director of corporate services Sara Ross and director of workplace Ashley L. Dunn. Dunn joined Dyer Brown in 2005 as a designer, rising to the roles of director of workplace in 2015 and associate principal in 2019, managing large teams through complex projects ranging up to 400,000 square feet in size. Ross has served as director of corporate services since joining Dyer Brown in 2012.

Perkins&Will

Architect Jo Wright will be joining the Perkins&Will London studio as the studio’s first female managing director. She will oversee the firm’s regional strategy, which includes life sciences, healthcare, education, commercial interiors, and hospitality projects. She aims to continue championing the studio’s existing efforts to decarbonize the built environment as well as advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Louis Poulsen

Light maker Louis Poulsen has announced the appointment of Carly Conelli as its new CEO for the United States and Canada. Conelli will lead the newly established Louis Poulsen head office in New York, an extension of the brand headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. Conelli is a global lifestyle and retail executive with extensive experience within the luxury field across home and design brands including Roll & Hill, AERIN, Ralph Lauren, and Caro Home.

The Gettys Group

Molly O’Keefe, an accomplished leader and veteran of The Gettys Group Companies, has been promoted to principal. She will lead The Gettys Group Companies’ expanding business development team as the firm focuses on extending its global reach and impact. O’Keefe is a seasoned industry leader with more than 15 years of experience working throughout North and South America, Asia Pacific and the Caribbean.

Gensler

Former Walt Disney imagineering president Bob Weis is joining Gensler to lead global immersive experience design. Bob brings his 30+ years of experience creating some of Disney’s most beloved projects around the world to the firm. During his time at Disney, Weis led more than 200 major projects around the world with a capital value of more than $30 billion. From the U.S. to Shanghai, Tokyo to Paris, Weis’s design and innovation imprint has been indelibly left on theme parks, attractions and rides, resorts, and cruise ships. He has also consulted with major clients including Smithsonian, National Geographic, NASA, and the United States Navy, among others. Weis has received numerous industry accolades and awards and remains closely connected to his Disney roots.

Hollmann

Hollman, Inc., the industry leader in locker design and solutions, is proud to announce the promotion of Sue Hwang from chief operating officer to president and chief operating officer. She will be assuming the role from current president, Travis Hollman, who will remain as chief executive officer. This is the first time someone from outside of the Hollman family has held this position. With over two decades of experience in sales and operations, Hwang’s professional specialties include identifying and developing new markets, anticipating and adapting to trends, advising customers on ideal solutions, and developing fresh verticals. In 2018, she was selected as a Women in Business honoree by the Dallas Business Journal.

FitzGerald, a national architecture, interior design, and sustainability firm headquartered in Chicago, has welcomed Elma Milanovic as a managing associate to work alongside interior design director Kristen Larkin to lead the firm’s workplace practice. Elma joins FitzGerald with twenty years of experience in workplace, mixed-use residential, and senior living design.

Kligerman Architecture & Design

Kligerman Architecture & Design, a new full-service architecture and interior design firm based in New York City, has debuted. Founded by Thomas A. Sara Ianniciello has joined dash design as principal and design director. Sara, an interior design professional with more than 20 years of experience in hospitality and multi-family housing, brings deep expertise in the luxury sector. Sara joins dash design from Whitehall Interiors, where she was the Director of Design and a Senior Associate of the New York City based studio. Prior to that, she was at the London based design firm March & White, where she was Director of the New York City studio.

Chilewich

Chilewich is excited to announce Kevin McVey as the new hybrid role of CFO-COO. McVey succeeds departing CFO Bob Bruno and inaugurates the position of COO for Chilewich, reporting to Chief Executive Officer John McPhee. McVey comes to Chilewich from MillerKnoll, where he served as senior vice president of finance, Americas, and group brands.
