Four international hotels on both sides of the Atlantic embrace their enchanting environs.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Firm:<\/strong> Manca Studio<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n Project:<\/strong> Ai Maestri<\/p>\n Location:<\/strong> Matera, Italy<\/p>\n Standout:<\/strong> Located in a district of Paleolithic cave dwellings, elements in the four guest rooms and café were either carved directly out of the existing limestone face or constructed in front of it with blocks of the stone that resulted from the excavation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Firm:<\/strong> Ilaria Miani<\/a><\/p>\n Project:<\/strong> Monteverdi Tuscany<\/p>\n Location:<\/strong> Castiglioncello del Trinoro, Italy<\/p>\n Standout:<\/strong> An entire medieval hilltop village is now a hospitality complex offering a culinary academy in the former schoolhouse, suites outfitted in furniture custom-made on-site, and a jet pool inspired by ancient Roman baths.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Firm:<\/strong> OHLab<\/a><\/p>\n Project:<\/strong> Can Bordoy<\/p>\n Location:<\/strong> Palma de Mallorca, Spain<\/p>\n Standout:<\/strong> Combining the original pine floors and limestone main staircase with an era-appropriate materials palette of lime mortar and stucco plaster, a 500-year-old abandoned house is now home to 24 guest rooms and a swimming pool surrounded by primordial jacaranda and citrus trees. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n“It’s a seamless blend of traditional <\/strong>building techniques and ancient domesticity.”<\/strong><\/h2>\n
